Changes

After much turmoil, prayer and urging from the Lord, our family is making some pretty major changes. Monday night at the board meeting Christy officially resigned as Children's Minister at Avoca.
For months now she has been feeling an extreme urging to stay home with the girls. We never thought that it was an option for us financially. We recently finished going through Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University and we are almost debt free. We have our van for sale and once it sells we will only owe on our house. Since we are basically debt free we can live on my salary. We will have to give up some of the luxuries we are used to, but we decided that it is worth it.
Please keep our family in your prayers during this time of transition and if you know anyone who wants to buy a nice 2006 Honda Odyssey please send them our way.

We finally had another photo session with Julie Roberts last week. She has posted this one picture as a teaser. We LOVE IT!!!

First taste of baby food carrots!

Callie has started eating baby food and rice cereal. She has really started eating well. This is a video of her first taste of baby food carrots.

The Big Girl Room

Last Saturday Christy and I painted Karisse's room and set up her big girl bed. Today we put the finishing touches on the room. We added the dots, the other things on the walls and the curtains. Here are a few pictures. We think it turned out really cute.

The rectangle on the wall is just a reflection from the mirror.

Our Little "Santa"

Karisse was playing Santa to all of her "friends" today. First, she read them a Christmas book and then she ask them all what they wanted for Christmas. Amazingly they all wanted exactly the same things she told Santa she wants. She is soooooo cute.

Pumpkin Patch

We took Karisse and Callie to the pumpkin patch tonight to pick out pumpkins. Callie didn't really care what she got so Karisse picked hers out for her. They each got a little pumpkin and then they got one big pumpkin to share.

On the way home we stopped and bought the face you stick in the pumpkin like a Mr. Potatohead. Karisse hates to be dirty, so we figured she would not like getting the guts out of the pumpkin. After dinner Mommy and Karisse made the Jack-o-lantern while Callie and I supervised. Karisse got rather "creative" in her placement of the facial features. I think it would definitely qualify as abstract art.
