Camping at Natural Tunnel State Park

We left on Saturday and took our first camping trip in the "new" camper. We went to Natural Tunnel State Park in Virginia. Karisse was sooo excited about sleeping in the camper on her bed, until it was actually time to go to bed. She sleeps on the top bunk with a "gate" made by Grandpa. By the time we left today she was loving it. We would ask where do you sleep and she would say "on top". Last night when we were putting her to bed she said "on top, gate up". In the mornings she would wake up and holler Mommy or Daddy and when we got back there she would say "get me out".

Saturday when we got there Christy had out the clothes pins hanging lights. She started to hook one on Karisse and she yelled no no no. Christy clipped it on her shirt anyway and then she started yelling more more and telling Christy where to clip them. Here is the result:

We spent a lot of the time just hanging out and relaxing. Since we are working on potty training right now Karisse spent a lot of time sitting on the potty.

Yesterday we spent most of the day at the pool. They have a really nice pool. After our swim Karisse kept saying "I swim in big pool". She was not sure about using her pool float at first, but when she got used to it she loved it.

Ready to go!

Lovin her Ladybug Float!
Warming up in the sun and lookin cool!

After her nap (which was surprisingly short) we went to the playground. Karisse was quite disappointed that there were no swings (who ever heard of a playground without swings), but she had a good time on the slides and crawling through the tubes and up and down the steps and ladders.

Christy and I both brought hats to wear at the pool, (but we left them in the camper when we went to the pool). When we got home today and started unloading the camper Karisse found our hats and wanted to wear them both.
We had a great time relaxing and spending some time together, just the three of us, before it becomes the four of us. (in 23 days) We also enjoyed trying out the new camper. We really enjoyed it. It is nice having a bed for Karisse that is not also our kitchen table.

i thought it looked like she was covered in clothespins in that video to finley. how funny!

all the playgrounds i've seen in memphis don't have swings. very odd, and very disappointing indeed.
