Friends!!

We just spent the evening with some of our dearest friends, Andrew, Crystal, Finley (the Robersons) and Kristen. The Robersons have moved to Indiana for the summer and will be moving to Memphis in the fall for Andrew to go to Pharmacy school. They have only been gone for two weeks, but we have missed them so much.
Karisse and Finley are best friends. Last weekend everytime we got in the van Karisse said Ninley's House? (aka Finley's house) and everytime we went to church she said Ninley be here. She misses her so much. It is great to see them for a few days. Karisse and Finley sent each other videos this week and they both wanted to watch them over and over again.

NEW CAMPER

We bought a new (to us) camper today. It is a 2001 Jayco Eagle. It has been owned by 2 people before us. Apparently the first owner used it 4 times and the second owner used it 2 times. So it has been used a total of 6 times in the 7 years since it was built. To those of you who don't know much about campers you may be thinking that it looks like the old one. The only big difference is that this one is 2 feet longer and has bunk beds in the back for the girls. The other one only had a queen bed and then you had to make the table and couch into the other beds. It is a very nice camper and we got it for a good price too.

Vacation Bible School

We are have VBS at church this week. It started last night. It went pretty smoothly for the first night. We had a lot of kids that do not go to our church. That is awesome. The past few years it has seemed like we only get kids from our church and we feel like VBS should be about reaching out to the community. So, we are very glad for the large number of visitors. Please keep the week in your prayers that we will be able to plant some good seeds in the lives of these kids who are coming.

Camper

We sold our camper on the 24th. We are now camperless. So, we are searching for another one to take its place. We think we may have found one, but we want to go look at it one more time before we decide for sure. When we looked at it the first time it was dusk so it was getting kinda dark and it was not hooked up to power so we could not turn the lights on. I will keep you updated on the trailer status.

Happy Birthday Karisse!!

Yesterday our baby girl turned 2. I can hardly believe it has been 2 years already. She was soooo funny yesterday. She walked around all day singing "happy birthday to you". She is a mess.

Karisse sing Happy Birthday!

Today was her birthday party. We had 23 people here for the party. It was a beautiful day so we spent most of the time in the back yard. Last night I blew-up and filled Karisse's swimming pool because it was supposed to be really warm today. The three little kids had a ball in the pool even though the water was pretty cold. We moved Karisse's slide so the end of it was in the pool and Thomas and Karisse LOVED sliding into the water. Finley was not too sure about the sliding. Shortly after they got out of the pool it started to rain so we decided it was time to go inside for birthday cake and presents.

Fun in the pool!

Karisse and Thomas sliding into the pool!

She had an Elmo birthday, so I made her an Elmo birthday cake. It was a bit stressful getting it decorated this morning. I am pretty proud of the way it turned out though. A BIG THANK YOU to our friend Beth for sharing her fabulous icing recipe and her decorating tips and to our friend Ronda for the use of the Elmo cake pan.

The ELMO cake!

Blowing out the candles! Karisse had a GREAT BIRTHDAY, but she was one pooped kiddo be the time everyone left.

SUMMER VACATION!!!

NO MORE SCHOOL!!!
Summer vacation has officially started. I had to go in this morning and pass out grade cards. Now vacation has started. Karisse went with me to school. She was a hit. The teachers loved her and she made friends with Jill, one of the other teacher's little girl. They were running all over the cafeteria. I am loooking forward to spending one last summer with Karisse, before Callie is born. I get an extended summer this year. Since Callie is coming the week before school starts back in August I am taking a month leave at the beginning of next school year.

8 days

In 8 school days school will be out for the summer. I can't wait. I love my job, but I also love staying home with my kiddo and getting to do all the summer stuff I get to do with my beautiful wife. Some of my kids at school have been kinda crazy the last few weeks. They have Spring Fever in a BIG way. I have the feeling that this is going to be a long 8 days just for that reason.

I am really looking forward to this summer as we prepare for the arrival of our little Callie. I will be getting an extended summer vacation since she is due to arrive on August 7th and I am supposed to go back to work on August 12th. I am planning to go in for registration day and then not be back until September 15th. I don't have the leave approved yet, but that is what I am hoping to get. I will not get as much time as I did with Karisse, but it will have to do.

It seems like everyone we know is having a girl. Our friends Kristen and Teddy are having a girl and we just found out last week that Christy's sister and her husband are having a girl too. There is going to be a lot of estrogen in my life.
